
Most members of the spike-thorn family are tropical, but a few genera, including Euonymus, are well-represented in temperate climates – in some areas, too well-represented. Though the striking foliage of compact burning bush has high ornamental appeal, it's been observed to be an invasive plant in eastern North America.
