Fruit Trees and Shrubs for Zone 3

  1. I have property in Coalmont (just outside Princeton) which although Agriculture Canada says is Zone 5 all the local Nurseries say is Zone 3. I have planted one each of Gravenstein, Yellow Transparent, and Liberty Apple, and wish to plant a Green Gage Plum, and want to know what to expect. We have a Black-Cap Raspberry which seems to do OK and I just planted Tulameen Raspberries. We also have what we thought was a Loganberry (The tag said Blackberry-Thornless Logan) but the fruit are black when ripe. There seemed to be a lot of winter damage on this vine, but it came back really strong this year and I'm wondering what to expect with it as well.
