I harvest mine when they're ready which can be anytime through july-september. I don't find that they are all ready at the same time, it seems more like a constant supply. ( I have a mission fig)

We just moved to a property with three very mature fig trees. We have two Brown Turkey Figs and one that has yet to be ID'd. The Brown Turkey started ripening the frist crop about 3-4 weeks ago and it has been a constant supply ever since. The first crop should be done in a week or two and the summer crop will probably begin to ripen a couple weeks later. Many figs will color up when ready, say to brown or reddish brown. They also tend to droop on the stem, so where once held upright or perpendicular, they hang down. They also become very soft. Once they turn there is a very small window of less than a week where then need to be picked.
