I'm wondering if any of you folks out there have heard of the Tree Day program?

I am trying to organize an event for the kids in the kindergarten classes at my son's elementary school. Hopefully, I'd like to plant a couple of trees and have the 3 kindergarten classes come out for a little hands on info-seminar and send them packing with some curious minds and saplings! Anyone else planning anything cool?

I think it's a great opportunity to do some outreach and education regarding the benefits of trees in an urban environment. The other nice thing about National Tree Day is that it's Canadian, eh!

It's only the 2nd one in our history, hopefully in the future it will be as big a deal as arbour day is in some places in the U.S.
