Hi! Does sap from Betula utilis var jacquemontii and/or sap from aphids on them cause stickiness and sooty mold and will it stain paving and vehicles beneath it? A nursery recommended not planting Himalayan birch (in Victoria) for this reason. Is this is a recognised problem?

I don't see this species dripping here to the same extent as Betula pendula.
