Is there any information out there as to how the blight effects heritage tomato's versus geneticly modified tomato's growing them naturally.
I don't grow any heritage tomatoes, but all of the modern varieties that I've tried are quite susceptible to blight; so they are probably no better than heritage tomatoes. A quick Web search, however, shows that there are a few new varieties that are resistant. I don't know if any of them are genetically modified.
I grow an old Italian heritage indetermanent tomato and have never had a problem with blight. A few years ago I tried two "new improved" varieties in the same cold greenhouse. Both had considerable blight. My old tomato stayed virtually blight free. It does have a better flavour and tender skins. "New improved" are not always improved.
