I have been reading about a plant, Agarista populifolia, (Florida leucohoe). I am wondering if anyone has had success growing it in Vancouver?

Slightly tender, was in outlets here some years ago but I do not see any around now that come readily to mind. I believe I had it here at one time. Another thing is that Leucothoe populifolia often mildews badly in this area now, Agarista may have same vulnerability - that may be what happened to mine.

Since the rhododendron mildew became prevalent I even sometimes see heavily infested salal, as though there is a relationship.

    Thanks for the info, Ron.

I love the loose shape of Agarista. I have been looking for an evergreen foundation plant for deep shade.

Back to the drawing boards, I guess.

Might also become a bit tall for that use, where successful.
