Roses in sand

    Shore lot; more sand than soil. A neighbour gave us some kelp/alfalfa/epsom mix for some straggling roses. They went nuts! I just got some of the three ingredients but do not know the proportions or method; Make a tea? Top dress dry? The first application is sitting around each plant like a mulch. Should it be worked under? Thanks
