Identification: fungal growth in woods

    Anyone know what this beautiful fungal growth might be? Found in the woods on the mainland near Vancouver in December--not exactly sure where I'm afraid.

    Frog, thank you so much. My brother took the picture around the same time as the person from the other thread. Obviously, conditions were right for this strange ice formation. Fascinating!

    Hard to tell from here, but it could be ice.

    I was in the Olympic National Park last December when the temps were exceptionally cold, and there was quite a bit of interesting stuff going on with ice and frost.
