I'm continuing what seems to be a series on magnolia fruits, as this one is different again from the others I posted (Oyama and 'Caerhays Belle'). When I queried magnolia fruits, this shape seemed to be what was shown most often.

The flower is from a different tree - I thought it looked like the same kind of tree, but if someone tells me it isn't, I'll remove it or add a note. It's not really supposed to be flowering in October in Vancouver, is it? I'm guessing it just got a little over-excited by our recent nice weather.

    Is this identifiable?
