Trident Maple leaf scorch

Hi,

I have an 8 years old, 6-7m tall Trident maple in my Garden in Israel.
Our climate is dry and hot from early spring to Autumn and the tree is in full sun.
The tree is located in my lawn, and it receives water from the lawn sprinklers and from its own drip irrigation, but I never measured how much water it actually gets.

The problem is the leaves develop scorched tips in mid summer, getting more and more brown till they start falling down in September and October without any trace of fall color, obviously before it gets cold enough for fall color to show.

Does this sound like insufficient irrigation symptoms?
How much water should such a tree get and how often should it be irrigated?
The tree looks great in early summer but now it's already bare, while other trees in my garden (chinese pistache, Green Ash and Chinese Tallow) are still green and will develop fall color only in November-December.

Thanks,
Shai

Re: Trident Maple leaf scorch

I'd remove it and replace with something drought tolerant that doesn't need any irrigation (and ditto the lawn) - plenty of very attractive semi-desert species that would do well. Water resorces in the region are rare enough without wasting any on garden irrigation.

Probably mineral salts in irrigation water.
