Hi all. I have been trying to ID these for weeks using online ID sites as well as my field guide to north american mushrooms and so far I haven't had much luck. Seems like there are a lot of mushrooms that look like this.

Spore print comes out white on these. They are growing ALL OVER my yard bark, but not in the lawn (in Atlanta Georgia). Cap is somewhat waxy, gills are white to cream and fairly close as you can see... they appear to be attached but don't go down the stalk. The stalk is very fibrous and tough.... it will snap when bent but won't break in half without a lot of twisting and effort. Stalk color is somewhere between the gills and the cap.

    Any help would be appreciated.

I agree they look like M. oreades & that mushroom has a tough stalk, but if they are really growing out of (rather than through) the bark/wood only, not the ground, and with the tough stalk character, I'm thinking possibly a Collybia/Gymnopus/"FKA" (formerly-known-as-Collybia).
