While harvesting our prune plums from our one tree, I noticed many of the plums had tiny holes, some with a string of clear sap-like substance coming out. The plums are edible if still firm, but I think the holes quicken the demise of the fruit. (The honey bees sure do like the fruit, especially the split ones after this last good rain.) Does anyone know the source of these tiny holes?
    Thanks!
