Identfy Cherry Blossom Insect

Hello,

Every year when my fruit trees blossom, I notice a small black insect inside the open blossoms. It looks like a small narrow beetle about 1/4 inch long, black in color and it has the capability to fly. I've seen it on cherry, pear and apple blossoms. My fruit production has been very low in the past and was wondering if this insect could be to blame? If so, is there a safe way to to get rid of it?

Can you take a picture of the bug and post it for us? Probably it is at least partially responsible for your low yeilds, and you may be able to kill it using Safer's Insecticidal Soap if you have a sprayer.
