Hope someone can help me identify this small palm, it's about three and half feet tall, covered with sharp needles, and to my knowledge is three years old.

I'm almost certain that this is not a true palm but I'm gonna ask my friend who carries this one at his nursery; I'll call him tomorrow and describe it, if not I'll find out next time I go which should be soon. Good luck with that one. I like it very much...looks like something from Madagascar.

Barrie is right, common name Madagascar Palm, hence the confusion.

Yes Ed, many times confusion arises out of common names. I realize many folks don't use botanical names but the more we try, the fewer misunderstandings.

    Cheers, LPN (Barrie).
