Our raspberries have been doing rather poorly the last few years. Previously they had been doing quite well in that location (I don't have any other place to put them). The leaves, except for the ribs, turn yellow quite early and then brown and dry out. I attached pictures if I mastered that correctly. Only one or two new shoots grow. The harvest is quite small. In an effort for them to improve we have tried taking out the old plants and leaving the ground fallow for two years before replanting. After that we applied manuer in the fall two seasons going.

I assume the ground has been depleted of some other nutrient as new shouts beside the raspberry area do a little better. I would like to know what might be lacking.

Possibly a mild infection by some pathogen? Raspberry diseases

Some will come back every year.
