I took this pic of a plant I saw when I was in South Africa. No-one there knew what it was and I have been unable to see anything like it in my searches of the web. Can anyone here tell me what it is please?

(The orange flowers are from another plant)

I've seen this asked about before, it's an Asclepiad (milkweed or milkweed relation) of some sort.

Thanks for the prompt response - I'll try searching for examples of those. I found the pod very unusual, and have not seen examples of it on any of the sites I have seen so far.

Gomphocarpus physocarpus (syn. Asclepias physocarpa). The genus Gomphocarpus is African while Asclepias is essentially American.

Many thanks Tony - That seems to be it. I hadn't seen anything like it before.
