Hello, my name is Marcella, and I am new to the forum. I have a plant that has been in the family for over 100 years. There is great family pressure to keep it alive LOL!!! My mom almost killed it, and it was looking very bad indeed. I thought it was a gonner for sure. I took it, and removed all dirt, and planted it in new potting soil. I used the potting soil by Miracle Grow, that has the fertizer beads in it. I have been a sceaming success. The plant is thriving, with 3 new spikes coming up, and now (drum roll pleas)--it is about to flower-2 flower heads forming.

After all of this drama, I'd really like to know what it is. I will send pictures of it as soon as I figure out how! Thank you, Marcella
