Hotlinking images

    In the near future, it will no longer be possible to embed images from the UBC Botanical Garden web site or forums into other web pages. This embedding practice is called "hotlinking" (Google search for hotlinking).

    Configuration changes to the web server should take place sometime in the next week. Linking to images directly will still be possible, although as a courtesy, I'd prefer that people link to the thread that also contains the image.

    As it turns out, linking directly to images will not be possible.

    So, if you place an image on the forums here that you would like to share with others, you have to link to the thread that contains the image, not the image or attachment itself.
