    Hi there,

We live in Crescent Valley between Castlegar and Nelson BC. My boyfriend loves the Arbutus trees at the coast and we were wondering if they could be successful here. We are south facing slope that has many cottonwood trees and birch a couple very large fir and many many hazelnut trees on our hillside behind the house. We do get lots of snow here but the winters do not get below 15 degrees celcius and if they do it sure does not last more than a week at a stretch. I do know we are zoned 5 here.

    Thanks in advance!

    Heather:)

    I think you mean -15C.

Read this thread about Arbutus in PEI - chances don't look good.
