I have aJade that is about 15 years old. Every year we dilegently take it outdooors in the spring and back in in the fall. Over the past severals years I have used a botanical oil "All Seasons" spray oil by Bonide to spray on the Jade to eliminate pests. This year I have severe stem rot problem. Never before seen. Could this oil be the cause of the problem? If the oil got into the soil would this cause a problem?
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you

I don't know anything about that particular oil, but as a rule jades don't like being sprayed with anything other than water to clean the dust off.

As for the rot, that is the result of too much water. What pest where you spraying for?

Thanks for your reply. Mites & scale. I change the soil. I suspect some oil residue may have impaced it preventing the drying process or affecting the roots. However, they looked healthy.
