    Hello, New to the forum.

I have a young willow that appears to be diseased, or else is being eaten by bugs (tho I never notice any insects on it). The leaves appear to be doing well, but the bark appears to be simply disintigrating & splintering. It's worse at the bottom but appears to be progressively spreading up. I've attached a couple of pics.

I'm inexperienced to say the least when it comes to plants in general. Any help would be appreciated.

possibly a canker issue but the pictures are not clear enough to tell much.
