i bought one of these from the ubc plant shop for my balcony container garden. now, 4 years later, it's 12 feet tall, has sparse branches, needs repotting, and i'm moving at the end of the month. can i accomplish these things at one time: cut about 4 ft off the top so it will become bushier and so i can get it into the elevator, and repot it in a larger container so i can keep it?

Repot yes, top no. Try bending it over instead.

It wants to be a tree 15 metres tall. I'd suggest trying to find a park where it can be planted out.

Okay, I'll find an in-ground home for it Even though my new home has a roof-top deck, I think it needs to be elsewhere. Thanks for your replies.
