I have just bought a plant of this species, which grows in the UBC Botanic Garden. It is a relatively recent introduction which is just coming into commerce in Europe. But I cannot obtain any detailed information about when it was introduced to cultivation and by who. Can anyone help, please?

HILLIER MANUAL OF TREES & SHRUBS says

"I to the University of British Columbia Botanic Gardens in 1986 where it flowered and fruited in 1995, and to Britain in 1992 by Mikinori Ogisu who collected seed in SW Sichuan in 1991."

Many thanks. I looked at Hillier but my edition is clearly out of date. The carpinus promises to be an interesting introduction. I also have an unnamed maple introduced by Ogusi.
