Unknown tree

    i have a tree that has leaves like a pear, and flowers like a pear. it has long thorns and small round olive green fruits, am wondering what it is and is it edible?

    I wonder if it is Chaenomeles sp. Compare your fruits with the 3rd link.

    no the flowers are white and the fruit is small. about the size of a large marble and grow in clusters

    Loquat, then? If they were flavourless, then they were underripe.

    The Hawthorne Tree has thorns and white blossoms and small fruit. You might try looking it up.

    Sounds like Callery Pear Pyrus calleryana. Fruit at best only semi-edible if cooked.

    Am trying to figure this out. Since you first posted in October, rather than spring.

    You didn't get flowers in September or October did you? You referring to last spring flowers?

    And when are you seeing this fruit?

    Because you said "has" flowers instead of "had" flowers.

    In what way are the leaves like pear? Size? Shape?

    Yes, it is surely just a pear with small fruits. The size of the fruits of orchard pears is larger than normal.
