Now that the fall rain has came I have these things popping up everywhere! Through the bark dust, in the newly plant grass, in the cracks of the driveway. I keep pulling them and they keep reappearing.

My husband swears they are pansies because we had a bunch of pansies planted this past spring. But I can't imagine pansies reseeding themselves all over the place.

Any idea what these are and how to make them go away?

    thank you

Pansies do indeed reseed themselves: Three summers ago I planted johnny-jump-ups (Viola tricolor, heartsease) in a pot which sits in my back yard, and they have reappeared each year since.

Cardamine like the seedlings pictured have compound leaves.
Viola has simple leaves as far as I know.
