What plant is this?

    This mystery plant grew along side an hibiscus plant. My wife transplanted to another pot....and it grew into this. No one in our area seems to know what it is. Can anyone help identify it? it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks guys.......you don't see many of these out in the deserts of Southern California. It has a unique look for a weed.
