Wildflowers: Thistle plant perhaps

    This plant was found on Mt. Magazine, 2,500 ft. elevation on 06-01-12. The plants were on the edge of a mowed area and heavy woods. The flowers and seed pods look like Thistles. But the leaves look like that of Crownvetch. The stems have small thorns or sawteeth. And not large ones like the Thistles I have seen. Perhaps someone can ID this plant for me.

    Mimosa nuttallii ?, or M.microphylla?

    I believe it is the Mimosa nuttallii. Thanks so much !!!
