Grass-like leaves, fibrous roots

    I "saved" these plants from a community compost last summer (after any bloom) and planted them in pots. Now I've had to empty the pots (before any blooms) and store them elsewhere.

    I put a glove in one pic to show scale.

    Any idea what they could be?

    I'm wondering Siberian iris, but ...

    Looks like Typha to me.

    Thanks, both.

    I'll go with Iris.
    Typha was a great suggestion, but I'm guessing not. It seemed healthy when fairly dry.

    I'll just have to replant it and see what happens :)
