My neighbour was digging up a 3ft. golden elder as he wanted to build a fence. He was going to throw it out so I said I would have it.
I dug a good size hole and added plenty of compost, watered it well and gave it some transplanter solution.
It is in part sun/part shade but it is still very hot here in Southern Ontario and I know it is not the best time to transplant a large shrub.
Three days later, it is still wilting badly. Have I killed it or does it just need more time
to settle? Will it help if I cut it back? I would hate to lose it. Is there anything I can do to help it along?

I have never tried transplanting an elder, but I would definately give it more time. I read that they like a lot of water, so you are probably correct to water it often. Perhaps try shading the plant while it is adjusting. I would not add anymore fertilizers or transplanting solution. Give it time to adjust.

    Hope it grows,
