In The Garden: Please identify

    SDC16589.jpg Can someone please tell me the name of this beautiful tree that is in my newly aquired garden? Also would you know the lifespan. Neighbours tell me it's been here for many years. Thank you very much.

    Really? I have a crab apple tree about 10 ft. away from it and it looks different. The blossoms are more red, and the leaves are reddish too. Thank you

    There are hundreds of kinds of flowering crabapple trees. One in photo is perhaps 'Van Eseltine', although I can't be sure from view provided.

    Thank you so much. I googled images of crab apple trees and see that you are both right. I've never been a fan of crab apple trees because of the mess. But this one is magnificent. And it's right outside my door. Thank you to you both.
