Hello, I have received as a gift this very odd outside plant (see image). We are having trouble identifying it. At first we thought it was a Camissonia, but upon closer inspection we doubt it. It has 8 stamens, 4 petals, toothed leaves, all leaves and flower stems originate from a single base. It only blooms at night. It produces a 4 segmented seed pod in the fall and the seeds are stacked in each segment and slightly triangular. If there is someone out there who knows this plants or recognizes it, I would appreciate the feedback.
The leaves are slightly different. There might be another close species. Otherwise, it might be a hybrid.
