identify this plant...take 2!

    Found near river bank but the only one there and quite lonely. Mom pulled it up and planted it in her flower garden 3 years ago. It has two babies this year near the original. The original is about4-5 feet tall.

    Yes! Y'all are right! Amorphophallus Konjac (rivieri)
    That's exactly what it looks like! So how did it end up as a lone plant along a river bank? Any info about this plant would be appreciated. It's beautiful.

    Another question...mother pulled up one of the offshoots from the ground to give me but it doesn't appear to have any roots. I've placed it in a jar of water. Will it root?
