Can anyone tell me how to divide up this outdoor fan aloe plant?
I think it is all one plant.
It is out summer over here in New Zealand.

    Thanks

Your "fan aloe" is a single plant that, obviously, branches and grows into a tree-like specimen. Dividing it...I'm not sure if this is possible. At least, I couldn't find any species-specific information air-layering or simply sticking cuttings into a rooting medium. Propogation is via seed, for the most part.

I have done surgery on my Aloe plicatilis before...that is...taking a cutting of a fan. I gave it to a friend, who was successful in getting it to root, although I understand it took a long while. I figured it was worth a try since awhile back, I found I could root a piece of fan that was knocked off. Just stuck it in some dirt & forgot about it! Good luck with yours!
