1st Annual Burnaby Lake Bioblitz May 16 2010
    10am - 4pm
Hosted by Metro Vancouver in celebration of the International Year of Biodiversity
More details to be posted when available.

Bioblitzes are very fun! I'm not sure what these folks have planned specifically, but essentially a bioblitz involves counting as many species of plants, birds, reptiles, mammals, mushrooms, bugs, fish and other critters in a specified time period. Usually related events for kids and adults occurring simultaneously with the count.

There are other bioblitzes taking place in various locations in Canada on May 22nd.

    cheers,
    frog

We'll have a staff member participating -- might be me or Ingrid Hoff.

It'll be me, plant (and lichen and whatever else I can manage) books in hand.

Very cool Daniel - and thus I'm extra sorry that I won't get to be at this Blitz!
