I have little white larvae falling from my oak tree. I'm talking about thousands and thousands of them. They make a terrible mess all over my car and I can't really go out there until it stops. It lasts about a week. It happens every year at the end of April or early May and sometimes in the fall too but not as bad. They jump and they actually bite! I was wondering if anyone knows what these are? And if so what can be done about it. The first year it happened I took some of them to a local nursery and they said they thought maybe it was aphid larvae but they couldn't be sure. Any ideas would be helpful.

    Thanks

The birds seem to really like them though.
