Now that I know there are male and female sumacs, how do I know if I am purchasing a male or female? And do I need to plant both a male and female in the same area, in order to see the fruit on the female? Is it similar to the holly plant, requiring both male and female nearby? My garden center doesn't seem to indicate on their info. tags whether the sumac is male or female....is this normal?
Thanks for any help on this one.
