Pink and Green Foliage of Kiwi

Discussion in 'Fruit and Vegetable Gardening' started by Kaaren, Feb 21, 2006.

  1. Hopefully a very simple question. I want a Kiwi plant just for the green and pink foliage. I don't know if I want a male or female plant. There are great websites but they fail to mention the foliage. They are more about the fruit.
    Many thanks.

Look for Actinidia kolomicta. Plant a male - they are more colourful. They don't show colour until they reach flowering stage. The vines do produce fruit if both sexes are grown. They are similar in taste to the typical kiwi found at the market, but much smaller. Will grow in shade.
