A friend of mine has these plants growing in their garden. They planted a packet of seeds that were 'Flowering Plant' seeds. These plants grew out of the mix and I am convinced that they are nothing but weeds. I have seen these plants grow in fields and have never seen anyone plant or cultivate these on purpose.
Anyone care to take a stab as to what they are?
(These pics were taken at dusk, if they are not clear enough, I can take some more tomorrow.)

Probably one of the species of ragweed.

Well, it is a plant, and it is flowering, even if the flowers are very inconspicuous . . . so they are within the law, unfortunately. But very bad sales practice.
