    Hello all
I have a neighbor who is really curious about a tree in her small yard that sits on the property line.
I feel like I should know what it is but couldn't tell her so here we go:
Pic 1 shows leaves and a 2 inch long bit of seed packaging. (words fail me at the moment)
Pic 2 shows texture of the bark and tendency of the limbs.
Pic 3 shows the base of tree which is very wide- possibly 2 trees grown together?

    Hope someone can help.

Salix lucida, probably (from the location) S. lucida subsp. lasiandra.

Thanks for the replies Tyrlych, Michael. I would not have guessed willow. I am including one more picture that shows the shape of the leaves and catkins better in the hopes that this would help confirm identity.

    No question it's a Salix.
