Have a glass of wine, and enjoy your garden.

Re your problem with the ants a few years back i had the same problem with a large infestation of ants on one of my large acers. They were merrily munching the leaves on just one main branch of the tree. Rectified this by spraying them over three days with liquid nitrogen in an aeresol can just blast froze the little suckers away, didn't do any damage to the tree what so ever, and they never returned!!

Well Roebuck, you've opened my eyes to something I've never witnessed.I've can't say I've ever seen ants damaging any plant where I live.I've heard of leaf cutter ants but didn't think we had them here.I'll have to be more observant in future :)
