My cucumber plants were growing nicely, and then they suddenly died. I have several cucumbers though, but not sure if they are going to turn green. Any idea why they would suddenly die....they are in beds that are a few feet off the ground, could the roots have burned in the hot summer weather? I made sure they were well watered.

Yes, it is very likely the soil in the container got too hot. Plants like to have their roots growing in a cool environment. I am wondering why didn't you plant your Cucumbers in the ground?

My husband built these boxes thinking they would be easier to weed because they are higher up. If they are going to cause issues with the roots getting too hot though, we will have to rethink. This was the first run using them.
