I just bought a Gooseberry bush and planted it in 50/50 topsoil that contains some Ogogrow here in my yard in Kelowna. I am a brand new gardener so please excuse the really basic questions.

    1. Does my new bush look healthy?
    2. I live in the States from Oct-May....should I be doing anything to my Gooseberry before I leave? If or when do I trim it down?
    3. I don't think my soil that I bought is very acidic....I read somewhere that adding old coffee grounds to my soil would help with the acidity - would that help this particular bush at all if I added a bunch of coffee grounds from my local coffee shop (all at once) or if I sprinkled my grounds from my morning coffee in it's bed everyday? Would that make much of a difference?
    4. Do I need to do anything to ensure my bush grows into a nice shape? (tie to a bamboo stake etc)
    5. Should I expect to get berries from this bush next summer or will it take a few years to adjust to its new spot and start bearing fruit?

Any tips or advice would be much appreciated! :)

My first impression is that the soil/mulch is too high
up the crown of the plant. The original soil line in the
container should be visible at or just above your soil
    line.
