Is this a species of monkeyflower?

    I looked through my big edible plant book (hopefully I looked thouroughly enough), and the only thing I could find that whose leaves and looked remotely similar to these pictures is monkeyflower.

    My second guess would be a species of mallow - whose flowers look very similar, but the leaves don't look like they match up with my specimen. However, I noticed by looking on Google images that some species of mallow do have leaves that can look similar to the leaves of my specimen.
