need help identifying this plant

    I would love help in identifying this plant. I have been trying to identify it for a couple of years. It was growing in a field in North Central Florida. The photo was taken the end of October. Wish I had known then to photograph the whole plant including its base. I had the impression at the time that it was a grass-like plant.

    What you have suggested (perhaps Tall Elephantsfoot) is the closest thing that comes to it that I have seen. Unless it is maybe one other species of Elephantopus. I hope I can find the plant again and study the basal leaves and flowers. Thanks again for your good insight.
