I've been trying to propagate some Linden trees from seeds.

The seeds have very low germination rates.

Are there any other methods for propagation of this tree?

    Thanks

The seeds often remain dormant in the soil for a year - you might get further germination next spring from seeds sown last spring.

Don't you have to have a rootstock to graft onto?

I was thinking of maybe trying to root some suckers, seeing that they are quite "suckery"

Linden seed requires special care to get good germination. The seeds should be planted as soon after they ripen as possible. Older seeds develop a hard seed coat, and must be soaked in sulfuric acid, rinsed thoroughly, and stratified until spring in moist peat moss for satisfactory germination, or they may be stratified for four months at a warm temperature and four additional months at 40F. For Basswood (Big Leaf Linden) small seedlings can be easily found growing along shady northern country roads, and may be dug and transplanted in late fall or again in early spring. - Millet
