Interesting...they are very similar. L.multifida...fern leaf Lavender... http://everything-lavender.com/lavandula-multifida.html http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Starr_070906-8829_Lavandula_multifida.jpg L pinnata....jagged leaf Lavender. http://everything-lavender.com/jagged-lavender.html http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Starr_080117-2152_Lavandula_pinnata.jpg I have a lot of respect for Botanists Forest Starr & Kim Starr whose pics are on wiki. They really know their plants. I am not the only one to struggle with the id.See.... http://www.hort.net/lists/medit-plants/may02/msg00181.html Quote from above link... "The main distinguishing characters between Lavandula multifida are: The foliage of L. multifida is gray-green with sparse hairs and mostly bipinnate. That of L. pinnata is heavily gray-felted and only pinnate; the segments are broader and their tips may be bifid or even trifidly lobed, but they are very seldom branched below the tip. The flowers of L. multifida are arranged in rows that spiral around the branched spikes. Those of L. pinnata are arranged more-or-less uniformly around the spikes and do not form clear rows that spiral upward." You will need to look closely at your plants and decide!
Yes, I think I have to have a closer look on my Lavender, at one stage I was not sure that is a lavender as the flowers and the leaves doesn't have the common aroma of common Lavender, they have no aroma at all, but it looks beautiful as edging plant and I decided to propagate more to complete edging the rest of the garden around my house, thanks for your help.
