This plant has very small white flowers. I could not really see the petals until I enlarged the photo. At the base of the plant the leaves are very large and somewhat coarse. The stem at the base is about as thick as a pencil and is also very coarse.

    Any ideas?

    Something in the Boraginaceae.

Thanks Ron, it is good to see you are still so active with UBC!

Attached is a photo of the lower portion of the plant to help with I.D.

That must be it! I looked through the other photos I took of the plant and found this photo that shows burrs that I did not see. Then I noticed that six of these burrs were stuck on my socks. Attached is the photo with the burrs for anyone else who may be interested.

    Thanks!
