Hello group, I wonder if anyone can help me identify these 2 items. The little shrub I started from a cutting from a friend who didn't know what it was. I can tell you in spring it starts out a very pale pink and turns green in summer. Thanks in advance.
#1 reminds me of the plant shown by Kristy7484 in her post of September 12 (Gardening in the Pacific Northwest) entitled "Identification: Need help identifying strange plant'. Aroid? Arum? Arisaema? Or not?
1.This time we have the leaves, which help to pin it down to Arum. An aroid. Possibly Arum Italicum. Common name here Lords and Ladies, Cuckoo pint etc etc. Trouble with id is when there are just berries and no leaves, it can be either Arum or Arisaema. Unless there is a large patch of the berries when it is bound to be Arum.) http://www.google.co.uk/images?q=ar...&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1242&bih=529 http://www.google.co.uk/images?q=ar...&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1242&bih=529 2. Agree Tamarix. http://www.google.co.uk/images?q=ta...&source=og&sa=N&hl=en&tab=wi&biw=1242&bih=529
Thank you all for your answers. I'm so happy to be able to identify that little shrub after all these years. Many neighbours have asked and now I have an answer. I also loved that arum plant and hope to get some soon for my shady spaces. Happy gardening to you all.
