Identification: Leafy bush, came with the house

I've moved into a older home in Sechelt, that has a awsome mature garden. Lots of big rhodos and apple trees :)
One of the big shrubs is this specimen, it's evergreen, and a friend said it many be related to arbutus? It has bloomed with these small pink flowers. I'm not that impressed with it, I'm thinking of making more room for bulbs and annunals... something more exciting.

 

Its a Crepe myrtle .
